Jake Broom joined the Association as chief
operating officer in 2020 and began serving as the deputy executive director in
2025. Prior to joining the Association, Jake served in Goose Creek as the
assistant city administrator and then city administrator for five years.
Previously, he served as the assistant city administrator in Forest Acres for
four years. He began his local government career as the assistant to the city
manager in Camden. Jake holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a
master’s degree in public administration from the University of South
Carolina. Jake completed the Senior Executives in State and Local
Government program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard
University in June of 2019.
