City/County Code Enforcement Officer, City of Greenwood
Enforces various occupancy, public nuisance, and land use regulations, such as those governing commercial stores, contractors, and subcontractors, residences and commercial establishments. Administers and enforces City/County ordinances covering such activities as home occupancy, use of recreational vehicles, land use conformance, signage and related areas. Makes determinations regarding suspected violations of health, safety, zoning, dangerous buildings, public nuisances, or other code violations and takes follow-up action as required to assure conformance.
Responds to and investigates complaints regarding violations of City ordinances; issues notices of violations stipulating necessary changes for ordinance complaints; takes appropriate action to insure compliance. Maintains records of inspections, investigations, violations, hearing and related data. Maintains a close working relationship with the City Manager’s Office.
Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired through: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, with college coursework preferred and, Two years experience in a position requiring public contact Possess and maintain valid certification from the International Code Council. If this certification is not currently held, it must be obtained within one year of employment Must possess a valid SC driver’s license.
