Financial Analyst, City of Hardeeville
Class Concept Under limited supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Financial Analyst performs clerical, analytical, and technical duties as required on procurement and accounting issues. Position requires accounting experience in a technical environment with a strong background in accounting and financial management. This position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and procurement functions.
Examples of Duties: Advise and provide interpretation regarding the application of accounting and procurement policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain accurate and detailed procurement and accounting records. Track contract payments and project costs to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contract documents. Prepare purchasing and related documents. Research processing issues, contact departments and vendors to resolve issues. Respond to inquiries by telephone or in writing; seek assistance with complex problems as needed.
Review and process purchase orders and requisitions. Reconcile and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of operating and capital expenditures. Reviewing financial information. Preparing budget reviews and financial reports. Forecasting potential financial outcomes. Receiving, reviewing, and processing funding requests from departments. Monitoring the availability of financial resources. Budgeting expenditures for upcoming projects.
Typical Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Four years’ progressively responsible professional experience. Prior experience governmental accounting or procurement preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid state issued driver’s license. Pass a background check and drug screen.
