Job Duties

The Town of Lexington is accepting applications for the position of Special Events Manager in the Parks and Community Services Department. Under limited supervision, the Special Events Manager plans, directs and supervises the activities and projects of the Icehouse Amphitheater and acts as liaison to the downtown businesses and revitalization efforts.

Responsible for ensuring the amphitheater is maintained and running properly along with assisting rental clients. The Special Events Manager is responsible for marketing events at the Icehouse Amphitheater along with coordinating the Town of Lexington Farmers Market. Performs related duties as required. Reports to the Director of Parks and Community Services.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality/tourism, marketing or journalism supplemented by three to five years of experience in event planning, promotion and marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
